Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of 30- and 60-seconds of static stretching on vertical jump (VJ) performance. Twenty-four participants completed no stretching, 30 seconds and 60 seconds of static stretching per muscle group following a warm-up, then completed three countermovement VJ. There was no difference across all three sessions for any of the dependent measures. Limited-duration static stretching may not impair VJ performance.
